Step back in time while exploring the Ice Age Fossils State Park in North Las Vegas.
Officially opening to the public on January 20th, 2024, Nevada welcomes the newest addition to its array of natural wonders with the opening of the Ice Age Fossils State Park. Visitors can immerse themselves in the park’s history and important archeological discoveries at the new visitor center which is equipped with natural history artifacts, engaging displays, and interactive exhibits that tell the story of Las Vegas from 25,000 years ago. As visitors explore the 315-acre park, they are greeted throughout by custom fabricated life-sized metal sculptures of mammoths, dire wolves, and prehistoric camels that once roamed the valley’s lush marshlands many thousands of years ago. Guests can learn more about the importance of this site and the animals that once inhabited the area through the many informational kiosks located throughout. The engaging exhibits, designed by the talented team at Haley Sharpe Design, immerses visitors in the prehistoric past.
